The 2-day Design Thinking for Employee Experience course provides an engaging learning experience to help Human Resources, Learning and Development, and other people-focused managers understand how Design Thinking can improve employee engagement.

Design Thinking is increasingly entering the world of Human Resources Management.  This two-day Employee Experience (EX) program enables the practitioner to use Design Thinking as a framework to identify and define what matters to people in the organisation.

Deploying successful strategies using Design Thinking for employee experience can benefit your organisation significantly, including improved business outcomes, increased employee satisfaction, and enhanced innovation.

This course is suited for people teams who want to gain more insights into Design Thinking to apply this framework to build engaging experiences that ultimately improve employee engagement and employee effectiveness at making strategy, reality.

Areas we will cover are:

  • How to develop an employee-focused vision and employee value proposition
  • How to design employee experiences that will have an impact on the well-being of employees
  • How to ensure alignment between stakeholders around how to ensure engaged and effective staff

Participants will work with key tools and terminology and learn how to apply Design Thinking to employee experiences in a people-focused context.

This hands-on course entails engaging on a relevant people related challenge.  Through ‘Learning by doing,’ participants will then be able to apply lessons learned as soon as they return to the workplace.

The tools we practice during these two days include Stakeholder Mapping, Value Network Mapping, Employee Personas, Employee Journey Mapping (Employee Insights), Service Scenario Mapping, Prototyping and many more.

This course is for Human Resource people and Managers who are people focused that want to apply Design Thinking to human related challenges within their organisation.

From senior executives, to heads of different areas, this course will help you design employee engagement strategies based on sound design principles.

LEARNING BY DOING

The major part of the two days, however, will be focused on hands-on work on a general case using the different tools. The entire course is based on ‘learning-by-doing’, because that is at the core of Design Thinking. Furthermore, the tools we will be using are fundamental

in Design Thinking. Lastly, during this 2-day course you will be working on a general case. However, it is also possible to work on your own case or challenge by reflecting during the course on how you would integrate Design Thinking within your own case.

Learn how to:

  • Use Design Thinking to innovate in Human Resources and create a human centred organization, where people feel recognized, motivated and engaged;
  • Conduct focused research within your organization to gather important insights, such as empathic interviews and other research techniques;
  • Identify the priority personas (e.g., a manager, a newly recruit, an experienced hire, etc.) and design HR policies and tools from the lens of these personas
  • Identify the moments that matter to the employees, and create rewarding journey maps of their employment experience.
